A Baltimore, Maryland based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves Baltimore and Harford County homeless youth through programs that teach them how to get and stay happy and healthy.
That environment starts with caring, dedicated teachers who are trained to utilize a specialized curriculum to give each homeless child an opportunity to become self-sufficient and confident.
That the importance of a holistic ethos in our approach to creating welcoming learning environments for jeopardized children is paramount.
That hands on, interactive learning experiences are the most memorable for the kids.
That an integrated approach focused on nurturing the HEART, MIND and BODY of each young shelter resident will serve best in helping to guide these children to a happy, healthy life.
That by bringing play, laughter and joy to homeless children in the form of our lessons for life sessions, we can decrease the negative health impacts of homelessness.
Weekly, our volunteers help to transport hundreds of pounds of fresh produce and food that is served daily at the Eastside shelter in Rosedale providing much needed nutrients in their diet.
E4L holds Back-to-School and Adopt-a-Child drives twice a year to collect resources for the children we serve in Baltimore and Harford County. Our efforts with the help of the community provide brand new clothes, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, toys, and so much more for the children living in the shelters we serve. We also provide care products, clothing, and other essentials throughout the year.
E4L leads several monthly sessions with the children which help to provide the tools needed to build and maintain mental, emotional, social and spiritual health through wellness lessons and physical fitness activities. To date, we’ve conducted 450 programs and served over 2,ooo children.
Together we can give many of Baltimore’s homeless children the power to break the shackles of poverty and homelessness by helping to nourish both mind and body. With your help, we can equip these children with the tools necessary to build healthy bodies and creative minds and to instill the self-esteem that leads to dreams of productive lives. There are many ways you can help to further our mission such as:
